Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Reggie Miller poured in a game-high 28 points to lead Indiana to an 89-79 win over San Antonio at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Miller ended 10-of-15 from the field, including 7-of-9 from three-point range for the Pacers, who have won nine of their last 10 games. Jermaine O'Neal added 20 points and 10 rebounds in the win.
Tim Duncan scored 16 points and hauled in seven boards for the Spurs, who have dropped three straight contests following a four-game winning streak. Tony Parker chipped in 14 points in the losing effort.
The Pacers made 10-of-17 three-point shots (59 percent), while San Antonio connected on 5-of-16 from behind the arc (31 percent).
Indiana broke open a 63-63 tie after three quarters by beginning the fourth on a 10-2 run to seize a 73-65 lead with just over eight minutes remaining.
O'Neal's jump hook with 5:21 left staked the Pacers to a 77-68 edge and the Spurs never threatened again.
The game was tied at 4-4 early on, but the Pacers used a 14-0 run, highlighted by five points from Jamaal Tinsley, to seize an 18-4 advantage. The margin reached 15 later in the quarter, but the Spurs whittled the deficit to 25-17 after one period.
San Antonio battled back in the second quarter and pulled within 30-28 on Hedo Turkoglu's free throw with 7:30 left in the first half. The Spurs trimmed the gap to 35-34 moments later before reeling off 10 straight points, culminated by Duncan's field goal, to claim a 44-35 edge. San Antonio carried a 46-39 lead into the locker room.
Manu Ginobili had nine points, while Miller scored eight in the opening 24 minutes.
Indiana began the third on an 8-0 run to seize a 47-46 edge. During the spurt, Miller drained a pair of three-pointers. The game remained tight the rest of the quarter and the score was tied at 63-63 after three periods.
