If you have not seen the crash from FUNNY CAR race today then you will be shocked.
That is the most awful crash I have ever seen.
God Bless the family having to see that.

Very sad. RIP.

One of only 14 drivers in NHRA history to win in both premier nitro categories, Kalitta's last victory came in Chicago in 2005 in Top Fuel. He had a runner-up finish two weeks ago in Chicago, his 36th career NHRA final-round appearance.

He's survived by his father, wife Kathy and sons Corey, 14, and Colin, 8.

That was the most brutal crash I've ever seen in
racing period, much less drag racing. Just a side
note guys, ESPN did an interview with a fellow
racer and it aired today in SoCal and it was the
best tribute to a fallen competitor I've ever heard.
Can't remember the drivers name, but he basically
said Scott died doing what he loved and this driver
wants to go out the same way and he and his
crew has dedicated themselves to winning this
race to SK.
