? Scotty Bowman has decided to join the Chicago Blackhawks front office.

He's agreed to become the senior advisor of hockey operations for the NHL team.

The Blackhawks will unveil Bowman at an afternoon news conference.

He's spent the past six years working as a consultant for the Detroit Red Wings and won his 11th Stanley Cup with that team in the spring.
Detroit Red Wings Consultant Scotty Bowman watches the Pittsburgh Penguins practice for the 2008 NHL Stanley Cup Finals at Joe Louis Arena on May 25 in Detroit.

Bowman is the NHL's all-time winningest coach.

His son Stan is the Blackhawks assistant GM.

Hockey is becoming important again in Chicago.

Single game ticket sales started on Monday and the Blackhawks sold over 57,000 seats. The Blackhawks have also sold over 12,000 season tickets as the fans are anxious to see their beloved team next season. Keep in mind that these sales do not include the Winter Classic game to be held at Wrigley Field on January 1 against Detroit.

The Blackhawks ticket sales thus far are 300 percent higher than at this stage last season. Hockey matters again in the Windy City.
