why does the over look like an easy play here?......i understand both have terrible home and away ERA's but the most important ERA stat..head to head favors the under...both of these pitchers have good era's against these teams ...all be it in limited exposure....not sure the under is the play either but i dont think the over has any more advantage here than the under...:shrug:

Patterson has allowed just one run in 13 1/3 innings in his two prior starts against the Padres. He is 1-0 with a 0.68 ERA, having allowed eight hits, three walks and striking out 10.

Patterson made his Major League debut against the Padres in San Diego on July 20, 2002, throwing six innings of three-hit one-run ball. He did not get a decision in that game, but five days later, he shut out the Padres for 7 1/3 innings and got his first Major League win.

Pitching matchup:
ARI:
* RHP John Patterson
* 2003: 0-2, 9.90
* 2002 vs. Padres: 1-0, 0.68
* Lifetime vs. Padres: 1-0, 0.68

SD:
* RHP Carlton Loewer
* 2003: 0-1,6.43
* 2003 vs. D-Backs: 0-0 , 2.88
* Lifetime vs. D-Backs: 0-0, 2.22

Enough numbers for me to take the under...not quite, but I do like Arizona:p

Yeah stats from last year show an Under, but I am going with the OVER because it went over 3 games in a row, bats are hot, so they stay hot!!

ARIZONA PATTERSON R 0-1 9.00 0-1 1-0 0-2 9.90 0-2 2-0 10.0 9.90 0-2 18.90
SAN DIEGO C LOEWER R 0-1 9.40 1-1 2-0 0-1 6.43 1-2 2-1 14.0 6.43 0-1 18.66
37.56 men on base average here no way is it proper to play the under in this game I am going with a small opinion on the over at this point.

you could disect this game in a million ways but you just have to stick to the trend, pitchers, teams performance, averages, etc. Everything on paper IMO has this game going over. I have been wrong many many times but I just stick to the numbers and my numbers say over.

GL in whatever you do

this hp ump is a big under ump from last year..has 3 straight overs and think this goes under...why isnt this line @ 10

last 3 games went 11,14 and 15 runs? now u have 2 struggling pitchers whose whip averages are over 2? :shrug:
