Philly has been playing far above there head on offensive line and Defense for the past two weeks so that they would not expose their weakness at Qb. Anyone will tell you it is impossible to be up psychologically for an extended period of time. They were sky high two weeks ago to their credit. The first week on a monday night at SanFran. Alot of people including me thought they would play well. Did they ever?
Then they fly cross country on a short week to play home aganst the Rams. Again the defense bailed them out along with the fact that The Rams could not do anything on offense due to Warners's ineffectiveness.
Now they are asked to fly back across the coountry and be up for another game? Against a team that everyone including themselves think all they have to do is show up to win.
Guess what, they will not show up. Vegas is begging you to take the Eagles by making the spread only three.
Destiny's darlings? who beat the mighty 49ers and the rams without their best player? Favored by only 3 against a mediocre seattle team who is playing for nothing?
Philly will get beat outright IMO.

I bet this game on the moneyline already for my 401k acct. I'm wondering if the line will move in my favor.. I may make a very big move on this game. (2 or 3 dimes)
Does anyone have any ideas on line movement?

smashmouth, i agree with you 100%, emotional letdown for the birds here, flying back to the west coast for the 2nd time in 3 weeks spells disater for the birds. the line being 3 is a sucker bet, seattle is the side to play, although i'll sit back and watch and hope philly can pull out a squeaker, i can't bet against my eagles. good luck

I would wait as late as possible to bet this. Public bets on Sunday morning mostly, and I agree with your reasoning, they will be all over Philly. If you wait you may get +4 in my opinion.

You see it actually went down from the 3? it opened at. That means sharps took the dog early. Just wait.

Gardenweasel is right. I posted back on Monday that I thought Seattle was definitely the right side; situationally a bad spot for Philly coming off big road win over Niners on MNF, then the defense really rising to the occasion to overcome mediocre QB play by Feeley. Now another long trip west to face a team that has shown improvement on the offensive side the past couple weeks. Overcoming loss of McNabb in Game 1 was almost expected; more impressive to overcome loss another QB for 2nd week in a row. What will be left in the tank this week?

careful putting good money on bad teams..
the hags are a horrid team... but their main problem is they cant stop the run..

G. Hearst 124yds 3TDs
P. Holmes 197yds 2TDs
C. Portis 136yrds
E. Smith 104yrds 1TD
M. Faulk 183yrds 3TDs
T Jones 173yrds 1TD

Last week Garcia completed only 16 passes and threw 2 picks.. and the hags barely covered w/ two trash TDs in the 4th qtr

in other words.. weakness at the QB position might not be much of a factor...If the Duce goes loose..and the Eagles D shows up.. they could easily cover the 3...

Eagles could clinch a playoff spot w/ a win..

if the line were at 4 or 4.5 i would be all over it.. but for now im having trouble pulling the trigger.

the under looks better to me than the spread..

thoughts?

GL:)

Although we've seen early movement on both sides of the number, I see this one being staying at 3. The online books will move, however, IMO to as high as 4, as they tend to get scared faster when heavy action comes in, be it from squares or not. Seattle is 1-2 SU and ATS as a home dog, losing on MNF early against SF, being pummeled by Denver a few weeks ago, but winning outright against KC a couple weeks ago. They had a backdoor cover last week against the '9ers. Tough not to go w/the Seahawks here, who always tend to come up w/a stinker.

Philly has covered 3 straight, and post a record of 2-1 SU, but 1-2 ATS as a road favorite. The public should be jumping all over Eagles here. Smashmouth...I wouldn't say their OL or DL have been playing over their head, but rather fundamentally sound. This week, however, the offense won't be able to get it together, and the defense will be out there simply too long to hold the ship together....

Take the pts, but shop around for 3.5, you will probably find it come 3:30 on sunday, and play the ML +145. :yup
