I have an idea for a contest for the Bowl games. My idea includes the SEC because the numbers worked out easily. For my example, I will use all bowl games that SEC teams are in plus the remaining BCS bowls.
The bowls being used in this order (order was determined by date and time of actual game): Independence, Music City, Peach, Outback, Cotton, Capital One, Rose, Sugar, Orange, Fiesta.
The Independence Bowl between Nebraska and Ole Miss is the first frame. You will pick your team ATS. If your team does not cover, you have rolled a gutterball and get zero points for that frame. If your team covers, you receive the number of points that your team covers by PLUS the next frame's score (working like a spare). Only the points from the very next frame will be added to the current frame's score.
Example using the first four frames (lines/scores will not be close to actual lines and scores.)
Independence:
Nebraska -6 vs. Mississippi
Music City:
Arkansas -2 vs. Minnesota
Peach:
Tennessee -5' vs. Maryland
Outback:
Florida -3 vs. Michigan
My picks: Nebraska, Arkansas, Tennessee, Michigan
Actual Results: Nebraska wins by 12, Arkansas wins by 1, Tennessee wins by 15, Michigan wins by 8
My score by frame w/ total after frame:
Frame 1: 6
Total: 6 PLUS zero points from frame 2 because I missed the game
Frame 2: 0
Total: 6
Frame 3: 9'
Total: 15' PLUS 11 from Frame 4 = 26'
Frame 4: 11
Total: 37' pending Frame 5 result
This would go along with a different bowl for each frame, and the final frame being the Fiesta Bowl. The person with the highest total at the end of the game would win and so on. A tie-breaker could be a number of things--How many of these games go over 35; total for the Fiesta Bowl; total points for all ten games; etc.
What do you all think of this? My friends and I are doing a pool here, but if we could do something like this on the site for something little, I though it would be cool.
