The best team in the land who wont get a shot at the title is an absolute travesty to college football. This game was not near as close as the score indicated. We could have scored at the end of the game, but Tubbs showed class unlike carroll and stoops. To bad class doesnt get to play in the orange. What a bittersweet feeling going 12-0, winning the SEC Championship, beating 4 teams in the top 15 with at least 9 wins, and not getting a shot for the MNC :cursin: :cursin: :cursin: :cursin:

Travesty??? Best team in the country? How can you say that after that embarrassing performance??

Best team in the land???... you guys almost lost to a 3rd string QB powered offense. You just gave up a whopping 240 yards on the ground and gave up 4 touchdowns to a mediocre crappy Tennesse team that could barely squeek out a win to pathetic Kentucky a couple weeks ago.
Your defense got their ass taken out behind the shed tonight. Cadillac would get squashed by the USC or the OU D no problem so I wouldn't be whining about being #3.

Turn it on ABC.

Thanks to Auburn for making a great case for a playoff system again this year after LSU, OU, and USC last year. BCS is s--t. Pulling for sec nat'l champ, but not too upset being a TIDE fan! GL to Auburn in New Orleans.

it is very tough to win against a team twice in one season. yes, aub did struggle, but they played a better opponent than usc or oky played. turn it on abc, earlier. if the bruins had anything they would have won that game.......

let's look at usc's only quality opp. - cal. they aren't impressing anyone on espn.

aub's run def was piss poor tonight. no doubt. keep an eye on riggs from tn - he will be playing on sundays a yr from now. this was not a great game by aub,and they still won by dd. easily could have been 17, but tub's is a hard headed sob.

if aub throws deep early the game is a rout, but they chose to run constantly. furthermore, they overcome 3 big to's and still win by 10.

regardless, congrats war eagle

The better team won.

It is hard to swallow going 12-0, Winning the SEC, and only getting to pray for a shot at a split title for some reason.

I still think you need to rewind your Tivo and watch the Auburn game again and ask yourself if that team deserves to leapfrog #1 or #2. That's nuts. 240 yrds on the ground to a HORRIBLE offense. Hell it was a 3 point game in the final quarter.

No way they leapfrom after that weak perfornance

Wasnt as close as the final score; are you kidding me??? Auburns self proclaimed defense got shredded. Auburn deserves to play for the NC game though.

i agree that the tigers are the best in the ncaa..

too bad they get the 2 loss hokies in the sugar thanks to this bcs crap...

ironically enough, if i'm not mistaken in pre bcs years none of the three top undefeateds would have faced one another.....

USC-Rose
Ok-Fiesta
Aub-Sugar

avoiding that type of situation is the ONLY thing the bcs is good for

damn we need some playoffs.....

BTW war, love the turds
keep 'em comin bud!!

im not a big strength of schedule advocate, because i think its misleading at times. but as much as i respect auburn, i cant say i feel sorry for them. they did it to themselves by scheduling monroe, tech, and the citadel. they might be the best team, but we'll never know because they made their own scheduling decisions and are now paying for it.

i do not think there is a more talented guy than reggie bush. usc is a great team. they play a pro style cover 2 , and caroll makes good half time adjustments. aub and oky are two solid teams loaded with upperclassmen. i feel oky has the nod on coaching. i also feel that aub/oky get the nod on playing in better conf.

this is not to say usc is not the best team in the country. what i am saying is that they do not have to play the same level of comp week in/ week out, and they can afford to sleep walk through some games.

it doesn't really matter because the bcs will pull the same $hit they did last year. :thefinger

It aint like Bowling Green Houston and Oregon at home was all that great from OU either. Wea re in an age where it is all about home games and dollars. Lucky to have any good interesectional games. But Gman lets be honest, Auburn aint getting voted 3rd because of SOS. They are there because USC-OU were 1-2 in the preseason polls. And Auburn came back to tie OU and then dropped by beating their archrivals on the road while OU beat Baylor? We can debate all we want about who should be 1-2-3 but dont buy the pretense that the voters are doing it on SOS.

Is a split title possible? Would the coaches vote Auburn #1 if they roll in the Sugar Bowl? I know all the reasons why the schools do not want a playoff, but this is getting ridiculous. Who is to say that the same thing doesn't happen again next year? Can we just at least have a plus one game? Please?

you might be right, but auburn still knew the risks they were taking.

frankly, i think oklahoma played a perfect non-conference schedule. houston is a scrub team, but bg and oregon are definitely respectable teams that served their early-season purpose, but werent pushovers.

Ztown think of teh problems even with plus one. How are the bowls going to be 1 v 4 and 2 v 3? So this year we have an enormous argument about not only who is 1 but who is 4. Are we going to have rmatches of regular season games in bowl games? In my view the plus one is even worse than what we have.

Gman remind me which bowl Oregon is playing in with a conference that essentially has 2 great teams and 1 okay team in ASU? Would that be the same Oregon that lost at home to Indiana?

definitely not gonna debate the oregon issue with you. did they have a lame year? yes. are they a solid program? absolutely. nothing wrong with OU scheduling oregon and bowling green. the days of elite teams going at it in non-conf are gone. oregon and bg are both solid programs that served their purpose. collect a check, but far more than a scrimmage opponent
