It didn't take him long to get back to God's country, we welcome him. He's walking in to a hotbed of talent, that just needs rejuvinating. As much as I respected R.C. he was just lulling this team to sleep the past few years, doing just enough to get by, and it really stung him these last 2 seasons. Fran will win immediately, there will be no rebuilding down here, the time is now.

"Dennis Franchione has reached an agreement to become the new coach at Texas A&M, ESPN.com's Ivan Maisel has learned from an Alabama assistant coach.

The staff member said Alabama has canceled all its recruiting activities for the weekend.

Terms of the deal were not immediately known.

Franchione was scheduled to meet with Texas A&M officials Thursday, just three days after R.C. Slocum was fired after 14 seasons with the Aggies. Franchione and his wife Kim boarded a private plane Thursday morning in Tuscaloosa, Ala., reportedly bound for College Station.

Citing a source close to the negotiations, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that Franchione is expected to stay in Texas overnight and will be in College Station on Friday to be officially introduced as the Aggies' coach. "

I have seen A&M play a couple of times this year, and they have alot of talent, especially at the skilled positions. It should be fun to watch Franchione use all that talent.

Better enjoy him while you can! Has he ever seen a player he recruited graduate?

Fran refused to meet with the Alabama players to tell them he was leaving. He's doing it by teleconference. As of last week, he was "close to signing contract with Alabama" and all reports that he was talking with A& M were ridiculous.

Now I know how TCU must have felt.
