I'm just curious..............I have seen lots of cappers on here post their records and stats (which I love by the way). But I am somewhat puzzled at all the different ways + and - units are calculated? Yes I know, you can keep track of your money any way you want to, but their on some cappers on here that for the life of me I can't figure how they come up with their units record?

I've always kept track using profit margin.............

meaning:

when I place 500 dollars on a game at odds of $1.91 (-110) and I win I MADE 455 units (500x1.91=955)......and if I make a 500 unit play and lose I LOST 500 units.**

so for example on Day One of this years Aussy Open I had the following:

-----------------------------------
K. Kucera to beat J Vacek at $1.38 *500 units..............WINNER (+190)
J. Nieminen to beat N. Davydenko at $1.86 *100 units.....WINNER (+86)
W. Ferreira to beat T. Robredo at $1.69 *200 units........WINNER (+138)
P. Luczak to beat A. Savolt at $1.83 *100 units..............WINNER (+83)
F. Clavet to beat G. Coria at $4.15 *100 units................Loss (-100)
Y. Kavelnikov to beat J Morrison at $1.53 *400 units...........WINNER (+212)
M. Philippoussis to beat M. Verkerk at $1.39 *400 units........WINNER (+156)
S Draper to beat A. Kim at $1.89 *350 units..................WINNER (+312)
N Lapentti to beat J. Benneteau at $1.37 *500 units.....WINNER (+185)
T. Enqvist to beat G Gaudio at $2.16 *100 units..............Loss (-100)
F Santoro to beat B. Phau at $1.37 *250 units.................WINNER (+93)

Parlay: (female)

Henin-Hardenne.....Win
Panova...................Win
Hantuchova............Win
Venus Williams.......Win
Capriati..................Loss

odds=$1.94 *400 units.................................Loss (-400)

***Units +855 UNITS

is it just me...............or am I one of the few who keeps track like this

and don't get me wrong.........I'm not bashing anybody:p I just always thought this is the way it was done..........but obviously I am wrong:p

anyway.........happy capping:)

A unit is whatever your normal bet is.

If I bet a football game 1.1 units to win 1, then that means I bet $22 to win $20. 2.2 units would be $44, etc. etc. Some people, 1.1 units might mean they bet 550 or $1100.

So for you, 1 unit would be $500, apparently, so, you'd be betting 1 to win .91.

If you're up 2 units then you're up a grand, not $2.

For the disciplined capper, a unit would usually be about 2% - 5% of their bankroll.
