Appears to be a done deal, can't really blame him but not a KU fan so I hope his success there is moderate. Probably won't be though.

Not sold on Crean as being the guy. Also would be nice to not have somebody use the job as a stepping stone. The guy that might qualify for that would be Ernie Kent but that Oregon team underachieved a bit this year.

Who else? Floyd? Might not have a problem with that but would he be there in five years?

Webber from SIU? Hope not.

Have a lot of faith in Guenther, think he is one of the best ADs in the country so I think the progam will be in good hands.

Sad to see him go since I am a lifelong Illinois fan... Oh the days of Doug Altenburger and Bruce Dougles.... Not sure who they are looking at for sure. But I will say this Kansas may get just more than Self out of the deal. They may be getting some pretty touted HS player out of NJ who verbally commited to Illinois. That's if he doesnt go pro. Word is with the Kansas move he may go a year or two... If thats the case Bill will have a Title within 3 years.

Goldcup,

Charlie Villanueva is his name. From what I've seen he didn't have that great of a senior yr and that, at least before all of this happened, he was leaning to go to college. Wouldn't be a surprise at all to see him go to KU.

Have always been a believer that one and done players, more often than not, are not much of a benefit to a progam, especially those that are already decent. Carmelo is an obvious exception.

Lavin would be an interesting choice. Good tourney runs but theres got to be a reason those teams underachieved so often in the regular season.

Ah yes, Douglas, Altenberger, Efrem Winters, Tony Wysinger, Anthony Welch, couple of very good teams back in the day. Lost to UK in Rupp in '84 on a couple of bogus calls in the last few minutes. NCAA changed the rule after that game, not allowing teams to play on their home floor in the tourney.

Personal favorite team, because thats when I was in school, was the Gill, Battle and Anderson team. Will never forget watching Sean Higgins put in the Terry Mills airball in the final four.

Wilson, I don't think Webber would take the job. He is waiting on Keady to retire in the next year or two . I feel very strongly that this is a done deal. Bruce Webber will be the Boilermakers next coach. As for the Illini job I think Ben Braun will get the job.
