Went to a seminar yesterday where speakers included Peyton Manning, General Tommy Franks, Rudy Guilliani (sp?), Zig Ziglar, Steve McNair, and others. Sat in the second row, so I had a good view of what is going on.
Peyton Manning was surprisingly a good public speaker. He wasn't great, and you can tell that he has put in a lot of effort to learn this trade, but I thought he delivered a great speech on teamwork and setting personal goals that translate into team success.
Guilliani gave a great speech on facing an unexpected adverse situation.
Gen. Franks was a natural. He had perfect comedic timing (which I'm sure some imbeciles here will have a hay day with) and delivered a fabulous speech on learning from people under you in rank.
Overall, it was a great seminar. I was surprised how much each of the speakers spoke of their faith relating to their personal success. I don't know if it would have been as glaring to me if I didn't hang out here. Obviously I didn't mind it becuase I attribute my success to my faith, but I am sure there were people there who grew tired of hearing that. But it was the speker's time to talk, so I think they have every right to do as they please.
Anyway, it was a good day.
