One thing worth mentioningoff the NFL topic is that the Gold Sheet has a Deuce play this week and they are very rare. It IS NOT in the NFl but College. They like Washington over USC +8!!!

POINT SPREAD NEWSLETTER

HOME TEAM IN CAPS, *STARRED TEAM TO COVER SPREAD
TOP PRO PICKS

CLEVELAND-9 over *Houston by 3
The actual line on this game tells you that the Texans are not a pushover. They are far from that as they nearly upset Buffalo last week. If you want to lay points then find a team that can run and stop the run. Cleveland can do neither. The Texans ran for 141 yards last week. Houston QB Carr has some dangerous receivers in Jermaine Lewis, Jabar Gaffney and Corey Bradford. Dom Capers is meticulous in planning and will have his team ready to win.

*San Francisco+2 1/2 over NEW ORLEANS by 4
This should be a good battle as both have improved from last year. No question that Saint QB Brooks is a rising star, but New Orleans is not a reliable spread favorite. The Saints benefited from some early turnovers vs. Washington and then got a 90 yard kickoff return and an 83 yard punt return for TD's. The Redskin rookie QB threw 4 interceptions. All of this masks the fact that the Saints have a weak pass defense. Terrell Owens and Co. will do some damage and the Niners are starting to get their running game going too.

*MIAMI-4 over Buffalo by 11
Miami was outgained by Denver but they got some big plays from their secondary to edge the Broncos. Although Fieldler won't play, Lucas has been impressive each time he has played. Miami is 6-2 ATS at home vs. the Bills.
Miami coach Wannstedt is excellent at slowing down opponent's passing games.
Look for hot Bill QB Bledsoe to feel the heat vs. Dolphins. Miami should have no trouble moving on offense vs. Bill "D" that allows 34 points per game.

OTHERS:
Denver-3 over KANSAS CITY by 1. KC could lose and cover this if Green plays
Minnesota+3 over NY JETS by 3. Both have bad defenses, Vikes have more "O"
PHILA-3 1/2 over Tampa Bay by 7. Buc's offense still sluggish
ST LOUIS-5 over Seattle by 7. Seahawks have numerous injuries & Faulk is back
ATLANTA-3 1/2 over Carolina by 3. Panthers have injuries but hang close
BALTIMORE-2 over Jaguars by 3. Does Brunell play, Ray Lewis? Too many ??'s
Chicago-3 over DETROIT by 7. Lions defense can't stop anyone OVER 45
OAKLAND-7 over San Diego by 3. Chargers are a young team but talented
GREEB BAY-7 1/2 over Wash by 10. The difference is at QB
Arizona-3 1/2 over Dallas by 3. Best go UNDER 36 1/2 as neither can score
PITT-4 1/2 over Indy by 3. Pitt 10-1 home on Monday but their "D" can be had

Marc lawrence -Tip of the Day

Atlanta is 0-9 ATS at home off a SU win and 1-12 SU & 1-11-1 ATS home vs .500 > opposition. Carolina is 6-1-1 ATS with revenge.

Play On:
Carolina Panthers

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bettors Edge "Freebie"

Your free pick sunday is Miami over Buffalo. Miami is a perfect 7-0 ATS at home versus losing teams. Also, did you know that Buffalo is 6-28 ATS their last 34 SU losses. Translate, if they lose, they don't cover. Guess what, Ray Lucas is a better QB and he will rock the house as well. Miami wins easily by double digits.

Pick: Miami
