FREEZING DOWN HERE IN BOSTON TONIGHT...IS IT REALLY JUNE??? ANYWAYS SOME REASONS BEHIND THE ANGELS PICK...FIRST OFF IM NOT A BIG FAN OF SELES AND I RARELY MAKE A PLAY ON HIM ....HE HAS WON 6 OF HIS LAST 7 DECISIONS (IN 8 GAMES) ...HE HAS A 4.60 ERA AT HOME AND IS 5-2 AT HOME...THE ANGELS ARE 8-2 IN HIS LAST 10....

BIEMEL IS CURRENTLY 1-1 2.30 ERA ....BUT HE IS JUST 5-10 WITH A 6.13 ERA IN HIS LAST 16 STARTS..PITT IS 2-7 IN HIS LAST 9 STARTS...

IMPORTANTLY HIS ONE START THIS YEAR ..HE PITCHED AGAINST THE BREWERS WHO FOR LACK OF BETTER TERMINOLOGY SU** AGAINST LEFTIES (SEE OAKLAND TODAY) ...UNFORTUNATELY FOR HIM HE IS PITCHING AGAINST ONE OF THE BETTER LEFTY HITTING TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE IN THE ANGELS...THEY AVERAGE 7.1 RUNS PER GAME AGAINST LEFTIES AND ARE 10-5 AGAINST LEFTIES THIS YEAR...PITT ON THE OTHER HAND AVERAGE 3.8 RUNS PER GAME ON THE ROAD... THESE ARE JUST SOME OF THE ANGLES IVE LOOKED AT..( SIDENOTE ...SELE HAS FAIRED RELATIVELY WELL WITH THIS UMP (2-1)..HIS ONE LOSS WAS AGAINST SABES 2-1 IN BOSTON.... GOOD LUCK COOZ

cooz- I also seldom back Sele, us in Boston know exactly what a gutless wonder this guy can be LoL. Something I didn't pay enough attention to is how well Anaheim does hit LHP. Ok I'm convinced, medium play on ANAHEIM. thanks for the insight.

I WAS LOOKING AT THE BOSOX OVER AS WELL AND WILL PROBABLY PLAY IT...BUT THESE NUMBERS BOTHER ME...

1.) UNDER 6-3-1 IN HAMPTONS LAST 10 (CAN YOU IMAGINE WITH THAT ERA??)

2.) UNDER IS 4-1 IN THE ROCKIES LAST 5

3.) AND THE UNDER IS 5-2-1 IN CASTILLOS LAST 8...

4.) SOX VS. LEFTIES 4 OVER 10 UNDER

5.) CASTILLO VS. COLORADO 0-2 2.38..OVER 0-2

6.) UMPIRE IN THIS GAME 1(OVER)-4(UNDER) AVG. 7.20 RUNS PER GAME

7.) ITS REAL COLD IN BOSTON...MAY EFFECT THE BATS????

only thing bothering me is the weather.
I'm not sure how Hampton has got that 6-3 record (under), must be several Coors field games.

True Sox tend to play under against LHP, but I don't see Hampton sticking past 5.

Sox bullpen is in tough shape, losing Arrojo2 starting rotation is going to definitely hurt. Fossom seems to have lost all confidence. Rockies 4 some reason had trouble scoring in Toronto before coming to Fenway. Just a feeling after seeing Lowe & Rolando (who pitched excellent), Castillo will wake their bats up tonight. As I said weather is definitely a concern, almost like a early April game.

sorry so late on this, Philly I think is a team that is finely starting to click. I think the Rolen thing is completely exaggerated. Prior to losing last night to Colon Philly had taken 4 straight on the road (a monumental step 4 this club). Obviously I don't know you, but reading your posts you do your homework statistically & handicap accordingly. Statistically Cleveland bullpen is struggling last 10 game era = 9.32. Bullpen season era 5.60, not good! I played Colon last night because I figured he probably would go at least 8 and coming off that last loss figured he would be on.
The kid Padilla has been outstanding for Philly, for a club that has definitely struggled his 8-4 2.87 is impressive. Also Philly bullpen last 10 era = 2.17!! Cooz I also handicap statistically, but I have a dish & watch lots & lots of MLB. I feel Philly has finally taken some steps forward & is turning the corner. Conversely Cleveland has incredible troubles scoring runs, I believe last in American League in runs scored. I just felt Tribe struggling to score, with bullpen troubles against a Philly club getting some confidence with solid bullpen. Hopefully I was right LoL
