Wellwood is expected to miss three weeks. To replace him, the Canucks have recalled Sergei Shirokov, who led the Moose in score with 10 points in 10 games, including four goals.
It means the Canucks still have six regulars out of the lineup, even with Schneider's return tonight against Edmonton. Daniel Sedin, Sami Salo, and Jannik Hansen are still weeks away from returning.
