I dont follow hockey all that much, but do root for the penguins. I gotta couple buddies from high school who played hockey in college. The one knows a couple people who are involved in the penguins organization and he claims that Sid the Kid is contemplating retirement. I guess he had bleeding in the brain, and some complications from it.

I am not a doctor, but i know bleeding in your brain is bad news. Also, like I said i dunno follow hockey like I should so was curious if anyone else has heard anything similar to this. Playoff hockey around this area has been a blast with the penguins makin a couple deep runs. I really hope he is alright.

he is so young and has so much he has already accomplished. olympic gold, stanley cup, about every minor league trophy you can get. Dude is a beast.

I heard that rumor as well, however his agent dismissed it. I really hope he returns as well, but probably not this year. Best player in the world.

Having working in a career selling products in surgery and covering all the city the hospitals, take this for what it is worth, I heard he had some type of spinal swelling with this concussion that lingered, not sure what the terminology is but due to this that is one of the main reasons for him being held out. Very well could all be BS but then again nothing really being reported either.

It was kind of funny though when I was at UPMC the day Polamalu had surgery to fix or clean up his achilles tendon and NOTHING was reported anywhere, and it showed in the playoffs as the Steelers were using him as a decoy pretty much.

SO, my point who the hell knows....
