Of course some of the questionable calls were judgment calls but there was also several instances of basic misapplication of the rules (like hasselbeck taking a 15 yard penalty for a low block ona tackle following an interception). The NFL has been silent about the buffoonery of the officiating crew (most notably the back judge who made nearly every questionable call) and we the fans should take them to task for this (especially since this crap happened in more than one playoff game this yr). Regardless of who you bet on or rooted for yesterday or throughout the playoffs, the NFL must not devolve into pre-scripted WWF style officiating. Please sign the petition.

Pointless.

Let's say it was fixed because the NFL stood to make zillions on the game, I highly doubt a petition signed by a bunch of Seahawk fans and losing bettors is gonna make them change their minds.

Besides, the calls were legit for the most part and while the penalties may have changed the outcome of the game that is the fault of the people who commited the penalties, not the officials.

Here
With all the money generated by the nfl why they don't have professional officials is beyond me.

penguin your response illustrates my point. Most calls were correct but some were clearly wrong (& the rules misapplied). Some penalties were committed & others were "phantom". I'm not saying whether the game was fixed or the officiating was completely atrocious at key times but anyone else that tivo'd that game & has watched some of those "penalties" again will agree that it was either one or the other.

Don't get me wrong I like you Penguinfan. I hope you know that. I'm happy for you that your home team won the Super Bowl. I do have 1 question. After the obvious blown call by the referee's then the replay booth in the Pitt/Indy game. I would bet every dime I own you would sign the petition if that game would have had a different outcome. This is why nothing happens to the officials when they blow a call or a game. Half the people are happy regardless because their team wins. It's a very short sighted view in my opinion.
