...when you posted pictures of your turkey the other day I told you that my brother had really gotten into hunting those intelligent fowl.... well, he called me last night to tell me that he had killed his first bird of the year yesterday morning.... shot it with a bow and arrow from about 30 yards!!! :scared (...little fuker is getting pretty sharp with that damn thing!!!)

Stats: 10 in beard, 22 lbs and 1 1/2 in spurs.... (those are approximates from what I remember from the brief phone conversation last night, but I was in a loud restaurant and couldn't hear very well....)

...while he's not very good with computers and lives out in the boone docks, he does have a digital camera and said that he'd try to get me some pictures via e-mail.... if he manages to figure out how to attach them, i'll get your e-mail from jack and drop you a line....

p.s. also, if we decide to get a MadJack's trip to the Sounds game up, I'll make a separate post for any and all MJ'ers in the area....

sounds like a heck of a bird!! 1.5 inch hooks are quite impressive!

I have dad tagged out now (called him in his 2 birds), so I just need 1 more for me, and I'll be done.

Nice bird. I got shutout last weekend as the weather sucked, with rain and wind in the mornings. Closest I could get to some gobblers was about 100 yards and they were already henned up and had no interest in my calls. I did pick about 800 morel mushrooms though and they were mighty tasty, so it wasn't a total shutout.
