i agree with escrow that arizona state can be a surprise team. they have two years of learning the new system & a couple of good recruiting classes under their belt, i think asu can step it up this year.

ASU is losing more and more sleeper status by the minute. I think this is actually a team that, by the time the season begins, will be OVERvalued. I like to look for teams that end up being everybody's pre-season sleeper. I would think that books adjust for this just as much as they do last year's national champ.

All in all, if ASU continues to get the sleeper hype, I think we will be able to find value in betting their opponents.

Concerning TCU:

Use caution!

Qb, wr, lb, and db's are an area of concern.

1. If qb Gunn goes down, TCU will be in trouble.

2. Who will replace the play of wr's Madise and Dunbar?

3. The loss of lb McDonald will be huge if Patterson does not step up right away.

4. Db Goss was one of the best in the nation in 02 and from what I understand, the coaching staff is concerned with the play of Walker, Sanders, and Godbolt.

Look out for Northwestern, they were horrible last year, but their defense should be a lot more solid up the middle, and thier offense loves to run wide open, only concern in the beginning of the year is o-line is inexp. They should gel as year goes on.

Colorado St.

Colorado St.

With 15 starters returning, and if they get past Colorado, this team might go undefeated. Colorado, August 30th, and Fresno St. October 4th, are the only two teams that I feel can beat this team. Colorado is rebuilding, with 10 starters returning, 7 on defense. Fresno is a year away from contending again, in my opinion:)

New Mexico has a real shot at starting off well. They have 10 starters on offense and 7 on defense coming back. They started last year at 2-5 and turned around there season with a 5-2 record. Ending last season on such a strong note I see them coming out of the gate running hard with their only true test against WSU in late September.
