This may be old news to everyone, but then again there probably isn't much reason for most people to follow the trainwreck that is the M's. Anyway...
Carl Everett was FINALLY DFAd today. At least that's what the parades downtown and the cries of "Thank you Jesus, I knew those late-night prayers would pay off eventually!" would indicate.
Also, the M's brought up Chris Snelling to take his place as the DH. On a sidenote, Snelling is without a doubt my favorite Mariner. It isn't just his Lenny Dykstraesque approach to the game, it's also the fact that the guy is just a frigging nut. A couple of years ago when he blew out his knee he was bored so he attempted to break a Guinness Book record for, I believe, juggling. I don't think he got it, but he juggled for something like 20 hours straight or something ridiculous. He also writes "Yoda" under his autograph because that's his nickname due to his squatty stature. Anyway, long story short, as bad as Everett was I think the M's definitely improved their team by getting rid of him and bringing up Snelling. Might take Snelling a while to get adjusted, but he should be fine. And hopefully this time he can play more than 2 games without getting injured. He's about as durable as Samuel L. Jackson's character in Unbreakable.
The M's also got Broussard for a minor-leaguer but he doesn't report until Friday.
