Colorado State-Pueblo vs Ohio Dominican; The low total is valid. These are two of the best defenses in D2 and they both are run first teams. Ohio Dominican's defense held Ferris State to 33 points... This is an offense that had been scoring at will. My lean is to the over because of the ball hawking defense that CSU has. I believe we will see one defensive score from them. I do not believe this will be a game in the 30's. First team to 27 wins IMHO.
I like Hobart +25 but as a small play. Wesley has had the great advantage of geography in the first two rounds. Thus they have won 59-0 and 52-7.. This game will be tougher but if Hobart cannot successfully run the ball to shorten the game, limit mistakes, and get some pressure on Callahan then it will be a long day. Wesley's passing offense is the most efficient in Div 3. Callahan has play makers everywhere. Wesley has not scored less than 33 this season and the 33 was vs Charlotte an FCS team on their way to FBS. Hobart's defense is decent and it has playmakers. Hobart will score 21... Will Wesley score 45? My initial instinct was to Hobart. Better running team, decent defense... Small play.
Valdosta is not a team that I follow. Sorry.
UWW: This is a very dangerous game. There coach has been named the new headcoach of Buffalo. So, how will the game go? I like UWW because they are balanced and the Wartburg defense is not great. I honestly would have preferred to bet it before it go over 7.
Widener +12: Small play. A home dog of DD this late in the playoffs? Got to go with the home dog. It did well for me last week. Obviously, the #1 rushing defense in Linfield is daunting but I think they have payed a week schedule. I think Widener can win this game. More balance.
I like Minnesota Duluth. I believe this game will be a war. Both teams played really tight last week. Both had some luck to come away with wins. I think the DD is too much.
John Carroll +15 This is a strong play for me. John Carroll are the have nots. They want nothing more in this world than to beat Mount Union. These two teams met earlier in the season. Mount Union jumped out on them but JC battled back and had the ball at the 7 of Mount Union when the clock expired. The year before a very similar situation. I expect MU to jump out by 10 or 17 and then I expect JC to battle back. These schools are from the same conference. They hate each other. JC wants this game. The coach of MU knows whats coming. John Carroll +15 4*
UTC -3 5*: I bet this line early in anticipation of this line move. UTC has lost 3 games this season; Central Michigan, Tennessee, and Jacksonville State. They have a father son coach QB which helps the flow of the offense. The defense is brutal. They played a pro set offense similar to this one vs Western Carolina and they housed them 51-0. Indiana State's Perrish is solid. I have been on the Sycamores more than once. Indiana State is a very one dimensional team. Coach Huesman has referenced this... Basically saying that they are going to focus on stopping the pass and make ISU try to run. I think this is going to get ugly. ISU was down 16-0 to EKU and then came roaring back to win 36-16. But that was a very demoralized EKU team that never recovered from their upset loss. I believe the UTC offense will be able to do what they want. ISU will not be able to run the ball so UTC will control the game. UTC 31 ISU 17 5*
Richmond +9: Coastal Carolina is soft. I have watched them all season and I believe they are in real trouble. The loss 2 weeks ago to Liberty seemed "orchestrated." Richmond will lose if they turn the ball over and become disinterested. Richmond will win if they stay balanced, limit turnovers, and commit to outscoring Coastal. This is my pick for the high scoring game of the day. I believe this game is a 47-42 type game. There are a ton of rumors around Joe Moglia and his link to other coaching jobs. This is the main reason the game is going on and off the board. Also Richmond coach Danny Rocco used to coach at Liberty so he is familiar with Moglia and the Chanticleers. 4.5* Richmond +9 Over 63 3*
Jacksonville State -10: The Gamecocks lost to Michigan State and since then they have dominated everyone else. Even the game vs UTC they statistically dominated but not on the scoreboard. Sam Houston State is a similar team to Jax State but not that similar. Jax state should dominated this game. SHSU had an emotional battle last week and pulled out the win vs SE LA. However, Jax state is a different team and Eli Jenkins is a different QB. The Jax Offense will dominate and the Jax Defense will dominate. 41-10 Final Score 2*
SDSU +18: This is a very interesting game to me. When the teams met earlier in the season Sumner was not playing as well as he is now. It was his first game back after being injured vs Mizzoo. He was flat. It did not help that all world RB Zenner only had 97 yards. But even with that SDSU was ahead at the half. Look for that to occur again. I expect SDSU to be in the lead at the half. The place where NDSU gets you is the second half. they have outscored opponents a lot to a little in the second half. I do not think this SDSU team has the defense to win this game. I believe they have the offense to stay in this game. 34-23 Final SDSU +18 1* Over 46.5 1*
I want Illinois State to beat UNI but i doubt it will occur. Tre Roberson and the RB are a great tandem and UNI is the only team to beat ISU this year... So, can UNI beat them twice? They can.. but I doubt it. Home team or pass.
Moneyline Parlay: Nova, UNH, Jacksonville State = Even Money
EWU -6.5: Montana comes in playing well. This is going to be a very high scoring game. I bet it early at 6.5 and I like the bet but not as much as I did initially. When they played the 1st time it was Vernon Adams 1st game back after injury. The game was not as close as the final score as there was some garbage time TD's that made it look closer. Playing on the Inferno is tough. I really like the over. Over 67 3*
Something is telling me that Fordham gives UNH a game. The two teams are so similar... UNH plays tougher schedule in tougher conference but they are similar teams. I think UNH wins but it may be close.
That is my small college play. I did not make the analysis stat laden and more just focused on my view of the teams. I have bet the FCS games every week this year and have watched ALL of these teams play.
I believe Fordham will hang with New Hampshire for a while but then be put away. I believe that Nova will handle Liberty. Liberty is playing well but I believe this Nova team is very good.
