joe q public's reign of terror comes to an end today. at least i hope so. but, just in case it doesn't, i took all the favs except 2 in my office pool. :)

i know everybody looks forward to my picks each week (over 40 views last week alone!!), but i must warn you to be careful this week... when 'the public' does well, smitty does bad. and smitty has done very badly the last few weeks. so tread lightly.

buffalo (+4.5) 2 units. yes, buffalo suffered a CRUSHING loss last week. yes, jp losman is TERRIBLE. but a 13-point win against the jets does not mean new england is a powerhouse football team again. they've won one road game by more than 3 this year - a 7-point win at miami in which they trailed in the 4th quarter. buffalo is a different team at home. they have only lost there by more than 4 once all year, and that was against atlanta back in week 3.

jacksonville (+9) 2 units. if leftwich was playing, i'd LOVE jax today. thanks to jacksonville's d, i still like them. indy has won at jacksonville by more than 7 ONCE; 41-31 back in jacksonville's first season, 1995. i see a close, low-scoring game here.

cleveland (+13) 2 units. cincy almost allowed a backdoor cover to BALTIMORE 2 weeks ago. charlie frye has spent most of the season working with the backup receivers, so he probably has better timing with them than he would have had with edwards anyways.

i sure hope the dogs start barking. c'mon, little doggies. :mj23: :mj23: :mj23:
