saturday nfl means we're in the home stretch. i really like a couple plays today.

NE/TB under (37.5) 2 units. NE should have little trouble befuddling chris simms. yup, i said 'befuddling'. he is easily befuddled. sorry, i just love that word. moving along... the injuries to brady, dillon, faulk, and several o linemen will also make it difficult for NE to get much going offensively. i see both defenses dominating the game. since i will be on the under, there will be at least one defensive or special teams touchdown. hopefully that won't matter. final score... something like 17-13. ok, the defensive td will make it 20-17. so yes, i am calling for a half-point win. :scared

KC (+3) 3 units. KC is the better team in this matchup. the giants' injuries on defense (especially pierce) will really allow johnson some running room. and if the giants are forced to commit 8 to the box (isn't that a porn? 8 men in the box?), that will open things up for trent green to exploit their secondary; curtis deloach in particular. on the other side of the ball, KC's run defense has been very solid. if they take away tiki (i can't believe i just said that in a football-related discussion), that should force manning into more bad throws, leading to turnovers. overall, i really think the giants will be exposed today.

the under was looking great, until that roughing the punter call swung the momentum. and simms' fumble didn't lead to a defensive score, but it might as well have. i still think the under was the right call. the pats will try to run clock with dillon in the second half and i don't see tampa moving the ball any more in the second half than they did in the first half. i just hope tampa's defense stays in the game. if not... could get ugly.
