some insight into the insight bowl...
sure, rutgers shut it down after securing a bowl berth, but they'll be fired up for this game. they have one of the better backfield combos in the country with leonard and rice. hart is a decent qb who's been plagued by inconsistency. i'm counting on him getting the majority of the snaps this game over the freshman teel.
arizona st comes into this game on a bit of a slide. they've dropped 2 straight ATS and 4 of their last 6. the 2 games they covered? they beat WSU by 3 as a 2-point fav and, as a 17-point fav against UW, they scored 13 points in the last minute of the game to win by 24. hardly dominant performances.
in ASU's last 4 games, they have given up an average of 188 yards on the ground and 485 yards overall. rutgers will move the ball on offense.
i've heard several people say that rutgers is "just happy to be here". a) i don't buy that. schiano will have these kids fired up. b) i'd still take the team that's happy to be there over the team that could care less if they're there. ASU needed a win in their last game against AU just to become bowl eligible. and what was their reward? a home game against rutgers!!! ooh, they must be excited.
unless hart and teel suffer complete meltdowns, i expect rutgers to be able to hang with asu and probably beat them on the strength of their running attack.
