GREAT day to fade me. 11-2-1 yesterday. nothing terribly strong today.
rutgers (+8) 2 units. this is strictly anti-cincy right now. the bearcats are missing kirkland, but they just played their hearts out against their crosstown rivals, only to fall just short. very tough to get fired up for a sunday afternoon game against rutgers. and if cincy isn't playing defense with passion, they are in trouble. RU has only played one road game after 12/10, but that was a win at depaul. if they come out with any kind of energy today, they should keep this one close.
florida st (-2.5) 2 units. the nc pups are talented, but they are learning how hard it is to win in the acc. fsu hasn't lost at home yet this year.
canisius (+5.5) 3 units. canisius is really struggling, having lost 4 straight conference games. but look at what they've done on the road... they just lost by 7 to arguably the best team in the conference (manhatten), and before that, in a 5-day span, they won at brown, at marist, and at fairfield. and before that, they only lost by 12 at west virginia. the griffs seem to prefer the road this year. in fact, they have only won one home game this year. AGAINST SIENA. and let me tell you one thing about siena (my alma mater).... we have no great home court advantage. back in the day, when we played our home games on campus, we had one of the best in the country. i believe it was my during my sophomore year we had the second-longest home court winning streak in the country. but then the games were moved to the knick (now pepsi) arena. 4500 people in an arena that seats about 18000 for hoops is sad. the griffs will be about as confident as they've been all season. i would not be surprised at an outright win.
