There was a good topic that covered all the bases

gotta get life insurence soon. was just wondering if anybody knew how long cigerettes stays in your system. its been a about a week since i puff on one. i know the cost on insurence will likely sky rocket if your a smoker.

bout 5 days and it will register bout same as secondary smoke. I just got notice my term insurance hits 10 year renewal june 19 and rates going up about 250%--if I was non smoker I could get new policy with rates cheaper than ten years ago smoker rate I pay. Aside from health reasons I figure if I quit from what I'd save on cost of cigarettes and insurance savings would be about $6,000 a year--call it a surtax on studity.:nooo:

Nope--and probaly won't.
The wife would be fine without it--so thought money might be better spent on long tern care --which I hate to consider--but at 57 the rates are at a premium and covering that risk would be much more prudent than a death benefit especially at 1/3 the premium.

I work for NY Life if you want to see some numbers on what we can do for you on long-term care. It's really a smart purchase before you hit 60 if you have assets that you want to protect.

Be careful...........that life application probably says have you smoked cigs in the past 5 or 10 years, something like that, or have you ever smoked. If you lie on the app. and have a claim that was the result of cig smoking, they wont pay. They'll just refund the premium and cancel you for lying on the app.........I'm pretty sure that's the way it works. Agent might be able to help out here???
