I really believe this is a head-fake by the 'books. I've always felt they play psychological games with bettors by sometimes moving a line in the opposite direction of the side they want people to take. In theory, it seems illogical to give an improved line to SMU, but if they feel like those extra points they are giving aren't going to make a difference anyway, then why not play head games? Just as airportis is doing...it makes you rethink your wager...is there something I don't know, you ask? Maybe, I'm just crazy, but I swear I've seen this before and IMO I "smell" it happening with this SMU/Wazzu line. If I were you I would hold that SMU wager with conviction. Truly think you are on the right side and the 'books are desperately trying to get someone to take the awful 'Cougs, through the "someone must know something I don't" basis. But, that's just my opinion. :shrug:
