Just thought I would drop some info on the early slate...
Oakland vs. Detroit
Although the side is a tempting proposition here I think I am going to pass. Oakland seems to be the obvious play, but I can't drop the run to a home team and I don't want to lay the -160 chalk. History is not on your side as the A's have never swept a four game series and are 0-3 in game four of a series after a win in game three. So with the little speedbump in the A's lineup I looked for a reason to play detroit and there is none. The tigers have a promotion where if they win one game against the A's whoever is at the game gets free tickets, but that's a reach.
However I think the total is a play here. Holt is no savior to stop a five game skid like the one the tigers are in. His era at home this year, and in his last three starts is over seven, and although the tigers give him good run support at five runs a game, the opposition scores an average of eight!
Speaking of run support Hiljus gets tons of it at an average of ten runs per game. and he gives up his share as teams are batting .294 against him on the road.
This would should fly over the total.
Oak 12 detroit 4
PLAY OVER 10 -105
Hiljuis also makes his first start against his former team, so what the heck I'll back the A's too!
PLAY A's -160
