All you heard was how sorry the SEC was as a basketball conference and they get 2 teams to the Final 4:mj07:.........Maybe the conference was underrated a little bit :mj07:

What about the American Athletic Conference?

What about the American Athletic Conference?

Uconn in the Final Four, Louisville in Sweet 16, and Memphis won their 1st round game? You telling me that SMU did not deserve in because the conference was so weak??? Really?

I think it is funny because people talk about the "high level" of ball played in the ACC and Big 12.... How many ACC teams made the sweet 16? Big 12 teams?

All I ever hear is how boring Big Ten basketball is as the scores are usually low scoring for most of the year, but it sure seems like they get at least one team in the Final Four!!!!!Had a very good chance of having 3 of the final 4 teams from this conference.

There is no doubt top to bottom Big 10 was the best conference........When you get 7 to 8 teams in every year you should have a Final 4 team the majority of time, especially when they are seeded 1 through 4.....

All I am saying is that Tenn and KY were underseeded.......Hell KY was favored over a 2 seed today......UMASS a six seed, St. LOUIS a 5 seed, BYU even making the tourney.......
Sometime common sense comes into play......KY an 8 seed and they have 4 to 5 NBA prospects on their team

Jesse... I think you are confusing points...

the number of NBA players on a team does not correlate to seed or even making the tournament.
Also... What does a team being favored over another have to do with anything? Are you referencing that a 8 see should not be favored over a 2? That is something that the committee should take into account?

Your original point was that the SEC may have been undervalued but when you start bringing in statements about a team have x amount of NBA players on it thus it should be a higher seed or that an 8 was favored over a 2 you start mixing non-related statements.

I honestly think the committee did a great job this year. Besides leaving SMU out and having a couple of seeds that I did not necessarily agree with I think it has been an INCREDIBLE tournament. High Level of basketball, exciting, not a lot of blow-outs and a record tying number of OT games!!!

The seeding in the tournament was a joke..........When you seed teams like St. LOUIS a 5 seed and UMASS a 6 seed then you are telling people these teams are better than KY and that is absurd........I would say let the oddsmakers in Vegas select the teams.......They know more about basketball than these clowns in suits do.......BYU making the tournament was a joke

Not as knowledgeable as some........Will have to look into that game as Siena will be flying cross country.......Looking into the seedings even more Wichita State having to play Kentucky in the second round was a joke......The committee was sticking it to Wichita State because they thought their schedule was weak so they stacked their bracket with Kentucky, then Louisville a 4 seed..... :mj07:

You can't judge a conference by what they do in the tourney....guess what....the committee didn't have that info to decide how good or bad that shitty conference was.

Also, there is so much parity all over the nation today that a couple calls (or no-calls) here and there can totally decide a game. Ask Virginia. BLATANT push-off not called with under a minute left. If they call it, who knows, maybe Virginia is in final 4. Kentucky has come alive...but my god, they bull their way into the lane and bowl guys over....not called....and they advance.

Just keep in mind, this whole thing is a crap-shoot. Its one game, not a series, and refs are deciding a lot of it. Maybe not on purpose, but again....I've seen Kentucky get away with a lot....even against Pitino which amazes me b/c thug Pitino usually gets every call. I've seen Virginia get dicked. Even the "maybe" foul that did Michigan St in against UConn....that was huge and decided the game.

Its a crapshoot and almost impossible to cap..

Everybody knows it is a crapshoot and impossible to cap.......The lines are so tight and the games could go either way........My problem with the tournament was the overseeding and underseeding of some the teams..
...Alot of the seeding comes down to common sense and the eye test........That is all I am saying......
