France - Le Championnat

Monaco - Lyon over 2.5 goals +100 @ Olympic
A Friday night game for two teams that will be playing in the final and decisive round of Champions League matches next week. Both have chances of qualification for the next round and so are quite likely to rest players for tonight game. The stand-ins as often as not outperform their absentees as they seek to secure a more permanent place in the first team. I don't see this as a bore draw. On the injury front, Monaco's Sonny Anderson is still injured, but would probably have been rested anyway, but the main injury concerns are with the Lyon defence with two definitely out and one questionable. With regard to stats, two of Monaco's last three home games have gone over 2.5 goals and these teams have met twice this year, both times going over 2.5 goals.

LOL! I need all these units I accrue to afford to live in Oxford!!! It's worse than London for the cost of living, but as for the local pubs I'm no fan of the local brew, I hail from Accrington originally [hence the handle from years ago] and the bitter up north is very different.

Right now the kids are in bed, the wife is out with one of her friends from work and there's enough Bud in the fridge to last me all night. Good enough for me, just a pity the golf finished hours ago, so it's the stats for me tonight!

You hail from Accrington but are drinking Bud that'll upset anyone up north!
Hailing from the Westcountry yes I still do drink cider of the proper variety - that should confuse them over the water if they ever read this forum concerned with the proper version of football!!

Know what you mean! But bitter is a can is not the same. Guiness anywhere but in Ireland is not the same. And I'm sure cider in a can is not the same!

I agree, don't think we have to worry about too many North Americans following a thread about the original "football", bitter & cider!

Just to confuse them a liitle bit more and get even more off the beaten track went for a job once as a sales rep for Guiness and asked the question about tasting difference and was told it is all in the mind not that I drink it myself
Read in some other thread you used to play golf at college was wondering how long ago as someone I used to go to school - with Roger Winchester used to play on the US college circuit

Only a sales rep would say that the difference in Guiness is all in the head!!

Was at Stirling University back in the late 1980s - one of the few places in Britain that offered sports scholarships. Had the full range of amateur internationals at the time, but none went on to make it really big from my time apart from Catriona Matthew - she was the year below me, but rarely fitted in with the rest of the golf team; she was already preparing for much higher goals

Nice "talking" to you Stan
PS Your bookmaker namesake has Campbell at

Matter of fact check this one out prior to U'S. foots forum.Just usually do not open mouth and insert foot on sport I am not familiar with. However coat tailed Stan plays last year to some nice profits and appears distinct advantage having U.S. oreintated books (Oly)laying odds on sport they appear to not be all that familiar with either.Cheers
