This is the 4th round of the UEFA Cup and as we get closer to the finals all the games will start to have less scoring. Celtic are amazing and have not lost at home in 48 games!! Liverpool have allowed the 2nd least goals against in the English Premier League and have allowed no goals in their last 4 UEFA Cup games. I really feel these two giants will both be afraid to throw too much offence into this one. I will back the UNDER 2.5 goals here most places offer it at -140. Good Luck

p.s. This is my first offical play in this forum.:)

Unfortunaty this posting will only concern those that can place a wager with a UK book and in particular Paddy Power.

Now I do believe this book has made one almighty balls up with the wording that they have used in their framed bet market. They may argue the facts but the overwhelming evidence will point that they are indeed wrong and to void bets will result in really bad publicity. One of the major sporting sites has already picked up on this and this adds further weight to any descrepancy.

Liverpool not to score in EITHER game @ 13/2 for 1 point
Celtic not to score in EITHER game @ 11/2 for 1 point

Now I have put the word EITHER in capitals because that is where lies this error. The wagers are priced up to mean not to score in both games, but the dictionary meaning of the word "either" is stated as ONE OR THE OTHER. As this game is played over two matches then we only need Liverpool and / or Celtic not to score in one of the games for the bet to be successful.

very tough game to bet on I think, i think the UNDER might be a smart bet though for the reasons you mentioned. The 3 other games of UEFA cup tonight could be interesting, I am leaning towards 3 home wins:
Lazio
Porto
Malaga

Haven't see the odds yet but with 2 out of 3 should make a profit

After the first leg the score of 1-1 left those clutching their tickets on either team not to score in either of the games, holding out for some kind of result in the second leg. Step up Liverpool as they achieve nil goals in leg 2 and secure those of us who played 6.5 points profit.

Before anyone rushes in and says I've got the return wrong, well it was my original mistake as the price for the men from merseyside was 15/2 and not 13/2 as stated.

Derek,

I would be amazed if you got paid out on that! As you know I work for a book myself, and I would consider them to be well within their rights to take your money.

Hopefully they pay up, so let me know. ;)

Drop me a e-mail...been a while since I heard from you.

In response to Crooky's reply, I have e-mailed him and shown proof that I was indeed paid out by Paddy Power.

I love it when the books make a cock up but stand by their error instead of crying and voiding bets under the term of human error.

Fair play to paddy power for taking this approach.
