It appears there are problems in Utopian Sweden...

The recent riots in Stockholm may highlight widening divisions within Swedish society generated by rising inequality, cuts in welfare spending and a failure to integrate immigrants. Inequality has increased the most in Sweden of any OECD member country over the past 25 years.

But, hey - youth riots in Stockholm are really nothing to worry about. Schools and cart burning, fights with police.

Sounds more like Detroit than Stockholm but hey, it's ok. The government is here to help.

I mean, the average worker in Sweden pays 70% in taxes. Bump that up a little bit and the bennies can flow freely for everyone!!!!!

Because you deserve it. Some, like Raymond and Skulnujtz, are too stupid to learn the truth about anything. You aren't...you spew stupid stuff by choice.

The average worker in Sweden doesn't pay 70%.. The top marginal rate for the highest income is 56%. Not long ago our top rate was above 80%. And we prospered like crazy.

The "riots" you refer to are penny-ante shit compared to our Watts and Boston riots. That's a fact which you ignore to make your Luddite point.

Failure to integrate immigrants? JFC, my man, we haven't yet fully integrated our own citizens. Brown v Board still isn't truly the law of the land, except in word only. Go on down to Orangeburg, SC, or Greenville, MS, (both places I know) and then tell me about integration.

You really need to stop with the Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh and WND crap. The truth is as close as your keyboard.

Most people would like to be thought of as smarter than they really are. You....for reasons I don't comprehend.....prefer the opposite.

Unemployment in Europe, your socialism paradise, is highest in the WORLD. Sweden's youth unemployment rate is 24%. in Greece, it is over 50%.

SOCIALISM ROCKS!

Your beloved system does not work.

You are asking people who do work to pay more so that people who do not work, can be paid.


And you keep going back to that period in US history when marginal rates where higher and everyone was happy and the world was great.

It was a perfect storm, Muff. Even someone with their head so far up Krugman's ass should finally be able to see that. US prosperity and economic growth was NOT because of an 80% top marginal rate. It was in SPITE of it.
