vmi -5-: although the citadel is easily the worst team in the socon, usually relative strengths take a back seat when this two teams meet in the biggest rivalry game of the year for both. today's bet is nothing more or less than a bet that espit d corps will carry the day. tonight the members of the '76 and '77 vmi basketball team return to campus to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their back to back trips to the ncaa elite 8 and sweet 16. the fact that this achievement could never be repeated in this era of nil and multi-million dollar programs will not put a damper on the welcome and motivation that their presence will instill. emotion and pride are the common traits of sports and service and tonight here's hoping that they work in our favor.

uncg +6-: being competitive in the socon is all about holding home court, and spartans are a perfect 3-0 so far this conference season. mercer is off a tough ot win two nights ago in lexington, and i think spotting this much in their second road game of the week is a lttle much. uncg owns this series in greensboro except for the last two - i think they stay in the game tonight.
