posting lately because i've actually been doing well, so if i can contribute here, so be it. also like the last couple weeks of the season, spotting teams that have quit, and teams that are either alive, or having fun playing. i'll disappear for a while when i start to go cold.
for me, it's all about managing my streaks, just like blackjack. play more when your hot, shut it down when you go cold. personally had a nice football season, but started to wet the bed during bowl season. had games capped right up until the big one, but the last play i actually made was a couple days before christmas. just stopped cold turkey in cfb.
been following a few of the mid majors, sunbelt is one of them. tonight we have UL monroe @ UL lafayette. lafayette at home against a better monroe team that has a bad road record. laf just at charlotte for a late season out of conference game. got waxed. coach said they went there to play, but in reality it was an excuse to be a throw away in hopes of being prepped for the rest of their conference schedule. that conference schedule is 4 games, all on paper to be pretty tight - all within 4 points - laf. is supposed to win 2 and lose 2, one of those wins is supposed to be against monroe tonight.
but for a team that is 7-18, and two weeks left in the regular season, i like their chances to go 1-3 better.
they are also playing with one days rest.
on the other side we have a monroe team who is 16-10, leading their division in the sunbelt, winning 13 of their last 18. sounds like a team that's having fun. they go into tonight's game with four days rest.
now on paper they are supposed to lose 3 of their last 4, the game tonight, and at both ark st. and new orleans, two teams that are better than lafayette.
i like the chances of the 16-10 team to go better than 1-3 in their last 4. decent teams that are having fun like challenges like these.
but the monroe road record is bad, 2-10 in their opponenets house. BUT those 10 losses were against:
iowa st, louisianna st, southern methodist, alabama, auburn, mississippi, denver, fla atlantic, south alabama and w kentucky. aside from denver and fla atlantic, the rest were all better teams. denver in denver is tough, and both denver and fla atlantic were saturday games off one days rest.
their two road wins were as a dog, at middle tenn off 4 days rest, and most recently at ark little rock off two days rest.
my play will be on Ul monroe to get the W.
edit: 8pm played UL Monroe + 2.5
good luck to all
