Right behind you
The teabaggers have the answer. Drill, baby, drill they yowl, then dust off their hands, problem solved.

Proven oil reserves in the USA are 21 billion barrels. Our usage is 20 million barrels per day, so, even if we could actually recover every last drop today, we would be completely out of oil, bone dry, in less than three years.

You betcha', baggers.

The battle cry of the Left,

Teabaggers,

anything original?

I just wasted my valuable time asking that question.

Well, I could call them ignorant, uninformed, bigoted ideologues, but it's easier just to call them baggers.

Again,

The bleating of the the Stalinists and Che lovers

I think Muffins has been exposed here?

At the second amendment march rally, this crazy liberal and her dog were yelling "Traitors! Treason! Your all Traitors!"
She went around calling Veterans "Traitor!" to their face.
NRA News was interviewing her for the first half of the video.
Then I asked, "What is the penalty for treason?"
When she said murder, that was what pissed me off.
I was always raised to never support violence and let people say whatever they want. I was also taught to never let people blindly disgrace our veterans.
I am all for free speech, but this loon didn't even know the severity of her words. She is advocating for the murder of Law abiding Americans and veterans, the very people who put their lives on the line so she could run her mouth!

I apologize to anyone who believes I acted wrong by yelling. You try and listen to her calling troops and veterans traitors and not think of friends you have lost in the war.

Or maybe the oil companies could drill on the hundreds if not thousands of drilling contracts they already have approval on that sit idle to this day. Maybe they could have used the billions in profits they made over the past few years to try to secure oil reserves that way?

Nah - easier to bitch and whine about drilling in other places, to expand their empires. Sorry, I don't have much sympathy for that logic. I personally don't have a problem with allowing more drilling, but I'd certainly like to see some responsibility from the oil companies when it comes to this issue first. Somehow, I don't think responsibility and oil companies can be connected with any real confidence.

are you talking about the oil companies that have left the Gulf of Mexico and will be drilling in Brazil?

Obama: Drill, Brazil, Drill!

Energy Policy: While leaving U.S. oil and jobs in the ground, our itinerant president tells a South American neighbor that we'll help it develop its offshore resources so we can one day import its oil. WHAT?!?

With Japan staggered by a natural disaster and a nuclear crisis, cruise missiles launched against Libya in our third Middle East conflict and a majority of U.S. senators complaining about a lack of leadership on the budget, President Obama decided it would be a good time to schmooze with Brazilians.

His "What, me worry?" presidency has given both Americans and our allies plenty to worry about. But in the process of making nice with Brazil, Obama made a mind-boggling announcement that should make even his most loyal supporter cringe:

Chadman:
There are reasons why those leases have not been used. Basically comes down to profit. The cost to extract and refine the oil from those leases is not profitable at the current price of oil. Say what you will but a corporation's sole reason for existence is profit.

In a perfect world, the Obama admin would reopen the Gulf as well as ANWAR. Make sure the regulators, etc are in place to help prevent another spill. Create jobs in those areas. Put a surcharge on all oil extracted from those sites that will be put forward from the US Gov't as grants for the development of alternative energies.

We are a fossil fuel based economy. There has to be a bridge to a new energy economy. One place I see the role of gov't would be to facilitate this bridge but not by trying to destroy the current system of energy.

Flame away.
