This Sunday is a tournament at some guys house and he invited me - probably to rob me blind cuz I stink - but its small time money, so I wont be mad If I lose.

Anyways...

Was hoping if someone could just give me some pointers or articles on angels or something. Marine gave me some good advice in the other thread. Would appreciate it - cuz I cant find anything good on the net when I search...

Thanks :)

best advice....go to a barnes and noble.....find a good chapter on starting hands....and memorize it or at least get a good idea of what to play and what not to play....

learn what positioning means and how important it is, what raising gets you -- learn value of raising, calling, checking and folding....

lots to learn or you will get killed....have to read up on it....

great game though.....mcuh easier to make $$ than at sports

fwiw , play tight but DON'T become predictable . I know , it sounds like an oxymoron :( ... Trick for me is when playing , solid (tight) , changing betting pattern with cards so no one can (comfortably) "put" me either on top pair , straight , flush , etc. Try to keep em guessin' . Anyway , hope this helps Hellah and most of all HAVE FUN ! GT

thanks for the tips global...

real quick, wanna give some props here

Dr. Freeze gave me a crash course on how to play this game at Paradise Poker. I must say, he is a very good player - he won almost every fawking hand!!! amazing. He gave me excellent pointers - good teacher I might add....despite our political views and us bumping heads every war thread - he seems to be cool.

Thanks again Freeze

lol.....hellah politics are politics.....nothing is ever personal when talking them.....even if we call each other morons, racists, or whatever....lol....

important to realize in the end we are all flesh and blood and we have different views of the world and how we think things should go...i believe most people have good hearts though.....just different outlooks

poker a great game...any gambler who loves action should learn it and will enjoy it as much or maybe more than sports

Hellah10, it is too late to do you any good before this game, but I have a great book for beginers, it's called Mike Caro's 12 days to hold em' success. It's more like a study guide with some daily excersises you can practice. Certainly not and end all as far as hold em goes, but it is worth the time for someone new to the game. If you get my e-mail from Jack and are comfortable giving out your mailing address I will be glad to send it off to you.
