Some All STAR Stats to ponder...

AL is 13-7 in the last 20 games, after having been dominated by the NL for years, losing 20 of 23. The HOME FIELD has meant nothing as the HOST league is 10-10 in the last 20 games played. I have no official stats on the OVER/UNDER, but I can tell you that of the last 21 games, only 5 have managed to go over 9 runs total. The average RPG with a DH has been 7.4 in the last 10, with only 2 of those 10 exceeding 9 runs. Another note, the AL has been winning lately, having won 4 in a row, but they have NEVER won 5 in a row. It should also be noted that recently the AL has come into the game having more HR's than the NL, but not so this year. The NL is leading the AL in HR's by a wide margin, 425 to 323 for total roster.

I see the NL as having more power, better hitting overall, and a comparable pitching staff. The AL is set up well in the BULLPEN with more relievers than starters, but that will help more if they have the lead, but I doubt if they do. I think the UNDER is a good play despite all the offense and the hype, and I see pitchers exploiting the HIGH STRIKE and keeping runners off the bases. There may be 4 homers in the game, but I don't think it will add up to much. I think the NL will hit MAYS and GARCIA hard and grab a lead.

FINAL SCORE: NL 5 - AL 2

** Side note - IF you like the AL to win the game, look for the RUN LINE as only 5 of the last 21 winning teams have won by only 1. With SASAKI and PERCIVAL in the pen, I wouldn't expect a late inning comeback.

Roger Clemens has quite impressive stats in previous all star games - I wonder what the props are on him even though I do not plan on wagering on the all star game.....

my bad the game has already started
