I think something stable that's been around forever is the yamaha. It either doesn't need drivers or any operating system already has them. I can't give a model number.
I recently picked up one called the "elephant" and I couldn't boot XP after installing it!!! Matter of fact I had to re-install the operating system.
I went back and traded for this yamaha.
But, I don't use it for anything. I didn't even have one until I bought software that wouldn't work without a soundcard. I doubt its great for music or games if you're looking for something high-tech.
