Season 0-1
I have read about inside information on internet boads so many times I can't even remember, so take this for what it's worth.
I live near UCI and have some contacts within the Athletic Department. Within the past week the coaching staff has decided to completely scrap the Flex Offense. They felt it wasn't working with their personnell and with less than a week of practice before their first game they have shifted.
Now before this shift in philosophy I had UCI listed as a play against team. They will finish in the bottom 2-3 of the Big West this year. They return Fells 6-7 250 9.8 PPG and 7.1 RPG and Campbell 6-6 10.5 PPG and 4.2 RPG. Fells is a solid player, possible 1st Team All Conference. The keys are that they lost their starting backcourt that averaged 24 PPG between the two of them.
I don't know as much about South Alabama. I do know that they will push Western KY for 1st in Sun Belt West. This team lost 4 starters but has transfers from UAB, Oregon State and Richmond.
Their coach had multiple offers to go elsewhere, but decided to stay.
In the end the transfers will know the system and UCI will be running a very vanilla offensive attack.
Southern Alabama -3.5 for 10 Units. It is still early in the year, so I am going to be cautious. If UCI is struggling offensively in 1st half this will definitely be a bigger 2nd half bet.
Good Luck,
Hucklebuck
