SOUTH CAROLINA +7.5 - South Carolina may be catching a tired Razorbacks team here, as Arkansas is coming back on short rest after their physically and mentally draining 71-63 7-overtime win over Kentucky in a game that lasted about 5 hours. Granted, the Gamecocks also played Saturday, losing a wild 43-40 contest at Mississippi, but at least they needed only 4 quarters to do it. Aside from the fatigue angle, Arkansas has regressed over the last month. They were extremely lucky to cover the number as 5 ? point favorites in that Kentucky contest, and that snapped a string of 3 consecutive ATS losses. In fact, the last time they had covered a number was also under somewhat flukey circumstances, as they came back from 21 points down in the 4th quarter to stun Alabama. South Carolina does have the talent to hang with the Hogs, and they showed some good heart by coming back from a seemingly insurmountable deficit to make that Mississippi game competitive. They have only lost 2 games by more than 7 points all year, and those were both on the road vs. possibly the 2 best teams in the SEC (Georgia, LSU). I do not put Arkansas in the same class as those two teams, so the Cocks may be in a good position to avenge a 23-0 home loss to the Razorbacks last season.
