Texas is announcing that Mack Brown is getting a 110k annual pay raise AND getting his contract extended 5 more years - to 2014. DeLoss Dodds must really get some good stuff to smoke. What will he pay the guy if he ever gets around to beating OU or winning a conference title?

i heard some texas idiot get on there and say that beating Michigan would be bigger than beating OU

lmao....looks like either
1. Mack has brainwashed his team
2. Texas football is in a sad state of affairs

you be the judge

I understand your point.5 straight losses, but for the record Mack Brown is 2-5 vs. OU.
Beat them in 98 and 99.

A raise is a joke considering how much he already banks.

Yeah, I guess lots of people forget about those first two years - one being Bob Stoops' first year. We blew a big lead, and the shorhorns made us pay. 5 in a row after that. All to Mr. Stoops.

I think that this is a huge year for tejas. If they can get past Meechigan, which I see them doing - this might set them on the right track, and get them believing that they can beat OU.

Beating Meechigan being bigger than beating OU. . . .? Uh, whatever motivates you my friend.

Maybe they are rewarding him for lobbying his way into the Rose Bowl this year! Maybe Mack has a future in politics?

First of all the facts are that the lobbying was irrelevant. Yjey only needed to gain 3 points and the one writer in Mobile moving Texas from 9 to 5 was all they needed. The rest was gravy. Regardless of the media nonsense. Texas actually lost ground in the poll after the politicking, but the facts ruin the media story.

I still doubt they believe they can beat OU. Ou will be good next year, but they lose a ton whereas Texas returns most everyone except Benson and DJ. Brown has no excuse next year, and with the favorable conference schedule he should be unbeaten headed to College Station for the season finale.
