somebody tell that twerp to get over his 'bad self, the sawed off schmuck thinks the name "Spike" is his personal name and he exemplifies all these specific qualities... he is a above average film maker at best, he has done nothing in life to give him a cornerstone on any facet of americana.

Six five asked me to stop quoting so much so here is my attempt at it. I forgot what the hell you wrote.... oh yeh spike lee.

Spike is a genius filmmaker and for you to think anything differant shows me you may have seen 3 or less of his films.

He is a important person in the black community. More well liked now that even Jesse Jackson.

He can be a jerk though.

Six five .....how did i do ?

genius?? sounds like you have only seen 3 movies. John Singleton, Bill Duke, Ice Cube are just a few other talented film makers who happen to black as well. What makes spike a genius? being black ?? So what...
he has an ego or image of himself as big as Texas, when you hear the name Spike, he is not the almighty image of the name or does he carry the joir de vive he thinks he potrays.

"He's just formed his own ad agency, Spike/DDB; he's published Best Seat in the House, an autobiography of the director as a Knicks fan with courtside seats; and he's about to start shooting He Got Game, a drama about a high school basketball star (played by Ray Allen of the Milwaukee Bucks) that will reunite Lee with his Malcolm X lead, Denzel Washington. When did you decide you wanted to make a documentary feature?

I've always been interested in all forms of cinema. I've done ten feature films, numerous music videos, commercials. I've done mini-documentaries for HBO on sports figures like Mike Tyson, John Thompson, Albert Belle, and Curt Flood. So this was an opportunity to extend that to feature length. But I never saw any barrier. To me, cinema is about telling a story. That's not foreign to me. "

...........................

I may try to read this book Best seat in the house, and give you a report on it RAZ. If I see that he is not a genius and a dipstick I will be more than happy to change my opinion.

As I said in the beginning Scott he is talented, no doubt, genius is another area entirely. it has nothing to do with the color of anyones skin, etc. Either way he has delusions of grandeur in regards to his importance to the world and his image of himself.

SPIKE LEE is a DOUCHEBAG

SPIKE LEE is a DOUCHEBAG

A few years ago I arrived at Kennedy Airport off a Red-eye flight from Las Vegas. And along comes Spike and he tries to bypass people on the taxi line to get his taxi. The folks weren't impressed and they expressed to him that he should wait in line like everyone else for his taxi.

I guess good ole Spiker thought his celebrity status would exonerate his rudeness.

NOW THAT IS HIS TRUE COLORS ! Up yours Spike
:thefinger LOL

TRUE STORY !:D

Sometimes to understand behavior you have to have walked in the same moccasins.

Unlike you or me Spike draws a crowd. The guy is just trying to get home. If he dont get out of there all the people waiting for the cabs will start asking for autographs and asking to come and meet their family and let me sing for you and be in your next film. It aint the same as a regular man.

But if I had his millions I would have had a RR limo waiting for me.

His best work by far was Mars Blackman!

I think the black community was looking for an innovative person to lead them into the movie industry, and Spike came along at the perfect time. He has made some really good movies as well as some horrible ones. John Singleton is a much better director, IMO.

Spike Lee you can make some decent films but you are nonetheless still a DOUCHEBAG!

Reminds me of the time Warner Brothers tried to stop the Marx Brothers from using the name Casa Blanca in a movie.
Groucho sent off a letter threatening to sue Warner Brothers for being Brothers because the Marx Brothers were Brothers longer than the Warner Brothers. Funny stuff!

Spike was just being himself

Spike was just being himself

Scott your points maybe valid in Atlanta, but everyone else was also trying to get home and waiting their turn at the taxi stand.

And the last I saw, noone was looking for his autograph. Especailly me. He lived in New York long enough to know the airport rules. He puts his moccasins on the same as everyone else. He can wait his turn like everyone else. Maybe in Atlanta they would seek Spikes Autograph but not in New York. Noone gives a rats ass about him here. LOL ( well maybe the bruthas and sistas )

He was just being a full-up johnny. I found it obnoxious. Sorry !

OK just thought he would be mobbed and it must be a pain in the ars to be a celebrity at times. Any city you go you are recognized. There are some rude people in the world and it must be hard for Spike at times to have his millions.

In Atlanta at a taxi stand he would be surrounded and talked to until he left. I have seen it with other celebs in town. I guess NYs arent so star struck.

I am going to get that book and read it. I still dont know why he is such a big basketball fan to go to so many games. What does it really matter in the scheme of things.

Thanks

"the bunker"
speaking of douchebags

speaking of douchebags

a guy and a gal walk into a bar....he sits at one end and she sits at the other....

the bartender asks him what he`s having and he says,"a beer.......and get the douchebag a drink, too"pointing at the lady across the bar and speaking loudly.....

the bartender says,"we don`t refer to ladies in that manner in my place".......the guy says,"whatever"........

later, the guy calls over the bartender, asks for another beer and again instructs him to give the "douchebag" a drink...

the bartender again tells the guy to cool it or he`s getting tossed...

later, the guy orders the third beer, and again yells for the bartender to give "the douchebag a drink"....the bartender prompttly throws the guy out...

feeling embarrassed for the lady, the bartender walks down the bar and apologizes for the drunk`s rude remarks....

"i`m sorry that idiot was so disrespectful....let me give you a drink on the house.....what`ll it be?"

"thank you....i`ll have a vinegar and water"

I'm not a Spike fan, but I loved "Mo Betta Blues". I think this is because of my musical backround. I thought you guys might like it too because spike was a gambler who got his ass beat by a bookie that he owed a lot of money to.
