Since both of the teams that you two follow the most are facing off tonight, I thought I would ask for each of your thoughts on tonight's game. I probably am not going to play the side but I am looking at the under.

Wash. seems to have been playing more defensive hockey of late????

What do the two of you think about tonight's game?

btw- IMO these teams are pretty even right now. But when the Caps get healthy I think they will start gettings a lot more W's.

Good luck-

Hmmm, very tough call on this game. Extremely tough b/c they have been so poor on the road, even against bad teams. MTL has a lot of speed which sometimes give the Caps problems. But the 3 D they have been using really slows down the other team. The bigger, faster guys they called up (and that will probably stay once they get some guys healthy. bye bye Reekie and Zetler) need to play well. They have a lot of rookies in the lineup right now, and no matter how fast and big these guys are they are still playing their first few games in the NHL.

The 3 D system has been working to perfection for Wilson. The key has been eliminating odd man rushes I think. Dump and chase style and 5 guys in the neutral zone have really frustrated the opponent the past few games. It has worked well, but they are still allowing a fair amount of shots but not real good chances. Kolzig has been playing very well.

Theodore has been solid lately and they played pretty well vs. TOR. They should have got the win except for the goal they disallowed. They had a hard time closing the deal vs. PHI the other night. Without Jagr and considering the D they have employed lately offense has not been the focus for WASH. I think the under is a solid play. But...they still have a pretty potent PP with Gonchar, Oates, Bondra on the first unit.

It is hard for me to be unbiased on this one re: the side. Although they have a lot of guys hurt right now this just looks to me like the start of one of the Caps patented mid/late season hot streaks. Forced to chose I would take WASH and the ++ money line.

Nice invitation, it would not be nice not to reply.

I wont post all those numbers, I think it is probably not so good to do so and a short ?resum? will do the job as well.
---------------------------------------
OVER/UNDER ?
Under 5.5, no question about it.
----------------------------------------

Side question?

4 points game.
Washington didn?t prove that they are a first of its class team. Getting better but not there yet.

Montreal is still in the playoff race they need to beat Wash at home to improve their situation.

Montreal at home will be an easy to motivate team for Therrien and should follow the team system.

Kolzig's is not playing over his head. That brake + doctors made him find is game back, so i expect WASH not to give a lot of goals against mtl and my trend when such a thing happens is not giving me any significant winner.

The Capitals goal against average above 3.00, second worst in the NHL.
Washington is just 3-7-1-0 against the Northeast Division(not the same team as now but?)

15 games ago I said fade montreal, I would not make this statement now. I have to admit going back 5-6 games habs are creating some stuff on offense and theo and defense made the job.

If I only go by the numbers I don?t have a winner in this one.

Since i have to take a side i will: Montreal -,5
Update: Savage not playing tonight for MTL.

GOOD puck, i mean luck :)

Will do. At this point I am passing tonight entirely. Really don't like anything. The loss of Savage makes me think WASH ML might be solid but I am not doing it. Don't want to jinx 'em.
