Slightly surprised to see such a high quality field venture to Korea.
SeRi will be looking to win on home soil but as usual one or two bigger prices have caught the eye.

This Catriona Matthew thing is really puzzling! Stands a great chance as she has been in sizzling form, and this is a mock-Scottish course. Hills originally posted 125/1 which I assumed was a mistake...at that time 6 was the maximum stake...having ascertained that their phone lines were quoting 25/1 I assumed it was a mistake and waited for it to be voided. Having logged on later in the evening, I was amazed that it was still there and that they let me have a few quid more. Then I was amazed even more to find Paddy Power were quoting 125 too to serious money! Now it's the day after and Hills are 50 and Paddy Power 66, which is still too big, and I have another 24hrs of unbridled optimism before she tees off! Ironically, she would have been my choice at 40/1!

Of the others, you have to give the Koreans a shout, and if you can forget that My Hun Kim finished behind Nancy Lopez lto then she has a great chance at Ladbrokes' 33/1

Also can't let Grace Park go unbacked at 66/1.

Very few offer prices about the home players, but Centrebet were 100/1 about Young Kim, who finished high up in Q School a couple of weeks ago.

Could be a fun weekend!!

Outright plays (1.5 units):

Se Ri Pak to win 41/9 @ Gamebookers [9/2 widely available]
Annika has two wins from five previous visits to South Korea, but Pak looks the better value this week. She comes with a victory over Annika in the last tournament and the return of the Tour to South Korea will be hugely anticipated. The Samsung World Championship moved to California a few years ago and last year's inaugural event was cancelled in the wake of September 11th. Backed by local support, Se Ri could be the more intimidating player this week.

Mi Hyun Kim to win 33/1 e.w. @ Ladbrokes
Siding with another Korean as home advantage should be important this week. Not in the best of form, but local support should help her turn her game around. All the other books think she has a chance, she is rarely available at more than 16/1, so a value play at the very least.

Catriona Matthew to finish in the top-four 12.5/1 @ Centrebet
The course is supposed to give the feel of being set in the Scottish Highlands with its mountain backdrops and Scottish-style setup. With the weather forecast also pointing to cold, wet "Scottish" weather, Catriona should feel at home this week. She has been in excellent form this summer with a string of high finishes since the Canadian Women's Open, but that event was also a good reminder to take the place-only option with Matthew. She blew a large lead on the final day to finish 2nd and with Se Ri and Annika in the field, it would seem the safe play.

Final update:

Matchups: 2-1-0; +2.78 units

Ward/Ellis LOST by 2
Rosales/Hjorth WON by 9
Koch/Teske WON by 5

Outrights: 1-2; +3.84 units

Pak 1st
Kim 11th
Matthew 16th

Impressive display by Se Ri Pak in some very poor conditions. She led throughout and finished six clear of the field. Kim had chances of finishing 2nd - she had been in the top-5 all week - but she dropped seven shots in her last seven holes, which was far more than everyone else in contention and the payoff for a top-5 place had gone. Matthew was always off the pace, but it was a good event with a nice profit in the matchups as well.

LPGA Tour ytd
Matchups: 17-14; +8.68 units
Outrights: 14-49; +51.63 units
