getting a game going tonight and normally we just are pretty ghetto and play on a regular kitchen table, which obviously gets annoying when the chips are sliding all over the place.

all we're lookin for is something to throw over the table for one night to give it a poker "feel".

what "material" do i get from the fabric store (or wherever)

im lookin for the most cost-effective but playable "surface" for one night. dont really care if its not a material that doesnt hold up well over time.

i saw velveteen priced at 10.99/yd and that seems a little steep for what im tryin to do for one night.

any clue what type of padding to get for table as well?

like i said, just looking for a playable surface for one night and preferably cheap.

suggestions? and where to find this stuff? thanks fellas

BIG ORANGE LAND!!
I bought my son a cheap poker set that came with a felt type material with the markings on it for like $20. Toss it over the table..he liked it, only 12 but loves to play hold em.

Gman I have seen Poker Tables for as little as $150 with the felt, cup holders etc and you can fold them up. Saw one at Oshamns Sporting goods just the other day.

thanks sun. thats what im considering doing as an alternative if this whole do-it-yourself one day thing ends up being a pain in the azz. thanks as well volfan. i might just be better off getting a low-end table and have something rather than nothing, plus save myself a headache
