spywarestrike... fix

Have you, or someone you know been hit by the spywarestrike virus?

How to tell.. you will get the windows pop-up saying you have a virus and you should run spyware. This is not a popup, it comes from the windows update icon on your machine.

Anyway, I was hit with it and I could not get rid of it. I followed the steps in this link and it was gone in 10 minutes. www.spywarestrike.net

This virus is new and adware and some other spyware has not released a fix for it.

It sounds like another version of spy sherriff, a lot of spyware are similar in what they do to your system, similar to viruses.

Glad you found a way to get it removed quickly, but now do you have a way to prevent it from happening again?

What yah can do to prevent this from happening is go to:

windowsupdate.microsoft.com

and make sure your OS is patched up to date. The WMF vulnerability will be plugged after that.
