1.Colorado Rockies(Best Bet)+110
I might be going to the well one too many times here but I like the Rockies again tonight! I am looking past the dismal road record of the Rockies and am basing this play more on the fact that the Marlins are struggling. Although Hampton has been horrible much of the season he just came off one of his best starts of the year. In his last 4 starts Tavares is 1-4 and has failed to last more than 6 innings. The Marlins bullpen has been terrible as of late and Torborg gave me the feeling he has lost confidence in his pen by not pinch hitting for Burnett last night while trailing by one run. The Florida offense has been dismal since the Floyd trade, their best run producer Lowell is struggling immensesly without Floyd protecting him. Last night Torborg's idea to shuffle the lineup still failed to generate more runs and I think the team may have mentally thrown in the towel for the season. This soft hitting team may just be what Hampton needs to shine tonight.
2.Arizona/Cincinatti over 9.5-110
The only factor that is preventing this play from being my best bet is the uncertainity of the HP ump. Heilling is coming off a fantastic start against the Braves but he did make a 115 pitches while just coming off the DL. I expect Heilling was pitching a little off adrenaline in his masterpiece against the Braves and could be touched up a little tonight by a Reds team that is simply pounding the ball. Haynes has lost his last three and has got hit hard in each. I am looking for Haynes to struggle with his control and give up several runs to hot D-back team.
3.Brewers/Philly over 8.5
These teams have been scoring runs lately! Rusch pitched well in his last but it may have taken a lot out of him. He threw 115 pitches in 6 innings and has always had problems with conditiong. I can see Rusch leaving early tonight as his pitch count, conditiong, and the Phillies lineup chases him. Phils starter Padilla has begun to show the wear and tear from career high number of innings. I fPadilla leaves early we can always count on bullpen to provide a couple of runs.
4.Boston Red Sox +175(Longshot special)
The Red Sox just took two straight from a good Twins team and I think they got a good shot tonight. Burkett is a good pitcher who keeps the ball around the plate and usually gives the Sox a chance to win. Piniero has been more vulnerable as of late and perhaps the converted reliever is getting a bit tired. He allowed three home runs last start and appears to be getting the ball up lately as his number of flyballs are increasing in each start. The White Sox were able to touch up Seatlle for some runs so why can't the Red Sox.
5.NYY/KC over 9-110
These two matched up last sart and the total just missed from going over. That game featured T. Craft behind the plate(strong under ump)and his strike zone is usually good for 1-2 runs less. Clemens might have problems with his second start off the DL and Suppan gives up HR's very often. This one could get ugly.
6.Cleveland/TB over 9.5-110
Pitchers matched up last start and the total reached 8 runs. Both Sturtze and Sabathia threw over 110 pitches that game so I hoping there not as sharp. Let's hope the pitchers have problems early and don't get a chance to settle into the game.
All feedack is appreciated
