1st round: 10-6 +4.4
2nd round: 2-2 +0.19
3rd round: 8-0 +7.59
overall: x-y +12.something:mj06:

As I said previously, I think that this will be a great series to watch but perhaps not a very profitable one. I've been considering the lines since they've opened and I'm remaining pretty clueless as to how to play it. Will put in my two cents regardless as my record this postseason, I believe, earns me that right.

The best play that I see, right now, appears to be the over 4.5 games, but -745 presents little value:rolleyes: . I was tempted by the Penguins series early line at +150 but it's dropped quite a bit. Had a chance to snag Detroit at -150 for the series and that's gone now, too. Think I prefer the former but I'd say that a 60-40 call, Wings, looks reasonable so really no value either way, by that assessment.

I'm thinking that home teams are looking quite good for most games, depending on how things develop. Can't touch the Wings in game #1, though, at the price and without seeing them square off at least once. They never met regular season so not much to go on there, though at this point in time we're probably better to go by recent performances anyway.

Over 6.5 games for +170? I could see it happening, unless the Penguins grab one of 1,2 or 5 in which case they might close it in 6...passing on the super-series play, though that would be the most entertaining (to watch, not to bet).

I don't make much of the Wings dropping those two to Dallas as, after dropping game #4 I think that they were just a little too complacent for game #5 at home, and then they showed what they were made of in game #6. Penguins dropping the game #4 doesn't say much either; perhaps that they are pretty much unbeatable at home, perhaps.

Just rambling on, I suppose, but it might help me if no one else. As mentioned, I say that there's no way we see a sweep here.

Player props don't appeal, either. Crosby and Zetterberg are too expensive for who their paired up with and Malkin vs Zetterberg seems to favour the Wing. Penguins may scheme to shut down Zetterberg (if they're smart) but I still wouldn't fade him on a prop. Nothing for me here.

Right now my only real temptation, for game #1, is the under. I think that both teams play exceptional defense and have great puck control skills, not to mention that for the opener both may play it cool and try to feel the opponent out. Fleury may be the slightly better goalie while the Wings have the better defense. I'd like to see a shots on goal prop as I'd be tempted by an under 50 for game #1. The 5.5 I'm considering, but I'd like to see it come down in price some--at even money I'd give it a shot but it won't drop that much. Both teams have players who can score but I think that defense will dominate game #1. Franzen, for the Wings, should miss game #1, at least. Players will have been off for a while as well, which could make for a slow start; slow being at least a period, perhaps two, but I don't like playing under 1.5's for the first period--way too risky in my opinion.

I, for one, see no value...yet. Might try that under or, better yet, wait to see what happens.
Should be fun.
Was the matchup I was hoping for.
Home teams looks good, in my opinion.
Maybe the Penguins in game #2 if they lose a close one, but we won't likely see +150 for that.
Can't touch the Penguins until I see them compete--yes, I think that Philly was that bad (Stars, too, relative to their opponent(s)()).

Let's see some glory for Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia.
Penguins in 7.

(in double overtime)

a little bit of comedy relief there early in game #2 for any Penguins backers (guilty).
one saving grace from this joke is that the Pens might be +120 or better for game #3.
we see that and I'll sacrifice my money--real Penguins have NOT shown up yet.
time for some Cherry laughs.
interested in hearing his take on things.

WoW...two scoring chances for the Pens that period. I think that gives them about 3 for the 5 periods so far. So much for counterintuition. Was kind of relying on that for this stupidity. Losing in overtime would be a turn-on. Perhaps the Pens will get another scoring chance or two.
 :nono: :142smilie

Reminds me of last year's baseball playoffs.

Don Cherry post-game plus

Don Cherry post-game plus

fine...I could afford the humble pie (Walk on Guilded Splinters), but I thought we'd see at least some semblance of a game. No chance of that, apparently. I was actually thinking we'd see like a 2-1 final (3 freakin' goals, notice) but do I play the juice-laden under...NO...got sucked in by the pleasant odds on the big freakin' losers. Do they show up in game #3?!?!

"We'll see a different [Penguins} team in the next game," or so Don Cherry states in his post-game comments. I was thinking that even after watching the joke of a period #1, where the Pens looked like small children. Still, if I don't get even-money PLUS then I can't touch this. Give me +100 to +120 and I'll toss some more of my playoff profits on these jokers, otherwise I might try that dang (freakin' obvious play for game #2) UNDER. Pens play even better defense at home and will the Wings change anything for game #3?...not bloody likely.

I figured that home teams would be looking good for this final and, perhaps, like in the NBA playoffs, home teams will surprise after getting blown away in the first two..."perhaps."

I was damn surprised to see a 5.5 after game #1--expecting a 5. My bad for getting greedy.

Penguins as dogs in game #3 otherwise considering the under.

Thought trumps feeling.
At least as far as gambling goes.

That was just plain stupid.

Alright. No more whining. Promise.
I'm sold that the Pens can compete in this series, certainly at the Mellon.
Holmstrom out for the next game looks like the only change for this one, and I think that hurts the Wings power play a great deal.

Penguins -114 0.8/0.7

This one loses and there won't be any griping, but I'll be done with these playoffs.
Expecting 1-2 goals by Wings. 3-4 goals by Pens.
Home team pucklines throughout these finals would have been sweet, despite the late goal by the Wings Thurdazed.

You know where I sit.
