A bit from foxsports.com

The playoff scenario is plain and simple for the Pittsburgh Steelers: win over the Detroit Lions and they're in.
STREAKS AND NOTES: Lions The Lions are 0-7-1 in their last eight games in Pittsburgh. They haven't won in the Steel City since 1955. ... DT Shaun Rogers has three sacks, 2.5 stuffs and a touchdown in his last four games. ... Detroit is 0-9 this season against teams with winning records. Steelers - WR Ward has six touchdowns in his last five home games

be careful

be careful

Dont forget if san diego beats denver saturday(very likely) Pitt will lock up wildcard spot.Add in fact that rothlisberger is banged up he may not play full game in this scenario.just a little more info for you.thats a lot of points to give for a probable meaningless game.

If KC beats Cincy and Denver beats SD, Pittsburg HAS to beat Detroit or KC is in

KC and Pittsburg both play at noon Sunday, if Denver wins Saturday it won't be a meanless game.

I seriously dought that will happen though as Denver will mail it in

Denver IS a 10.5 point dog though. If you want to back Pitt, you really have nothing to lose by waiting it out, this line is moving nowhere but down.

This scenario you paint is not very likely.San diego should have little trouble vs a denver team who will rest their regulars.thus the pitt detriot game will just about certainly be meaningless.this is what i was saying the more probable outcome.thus just be aware of this if you bet pitt because laying all those points on this type of game doesnt seem too solid.at least wait till sunday as san diego plays saturday.good luck whatver side you choose

I have already bet not a chance SD losses as Denver will rest. I have Detroit -14' HUGE with plans to bet it back the full amount If and "When" SD wins and the number dips below what I am hopping to be 8-9 points.

In addition, I have a $50 ML Parlay that will pay in the $3500 range with Detroit +$870 coupled with St. Louis +$740 as Dallas could also be out of it by Sunday night.

Should SD win (which I anticipate) the Steeler line and ML will swing bigtime and create $$$ opportunities. In addition, SHould Wash and Carolina win the Dallas game becomes meaningless and those numbers tumble as well.

Who says the last week wont be fun? I may be back looking for assistance as the weekend unfolds as I try to make some $$$.

The point i was making was not which side to bet or the result but the situation and the percentages in the bet.In blackjack if you have a 17 and take a hit and draw a 4 you win but that doesnt mean it was the right decision.in the long run you will lose.So in the long run if you bet 14 plus favorites in a "probable "meaningless game you will lose.i personally would not bet a 14 point anyway on a pro game as i dont believe there is value there.but hey you at least got what you want and now pitt must win.of course they may not cover the 14 points but you certainly could wind up winning this bet.good luck anyway.thats why they play the game you never can be sure who will show up on game day.
