Congaree has been training toward this race, he used and won the Lone Star Derby as a prep. Baffert was even talking about this horse while the triple crown races were going on. Does anybody have any tips or insight as to if this CHALK can be beaten. I know its a pretty stong field.

Thanks for any advice

Hey LUCKY,

Didn't see your Stephen Foster thread until now..would not have been that much help anyway; I had the third place horse Tepins.. But I have always been a big Street Cry fan, just could not bet him at 2/1 off the desert-ship. Had a future ticket on this bad boy to win the Derby last year; and then he was injured.
If you happened to catch his Dubai Cup race, it was an awesome display; today was even more impressive, considering that no horse has been able to pull the Dubai World Cup - Stephen Foster double. That includes Silver Charm and Captain Steve. And he came very close to setting the race record, set by one of my all-time favorites Victory Gallop. It was a VERY impressive race, imo with all the factors involved.
It looks like he might be the horse to beat in the handicap division this year, and that is saying a lot considering his travel. So, it looks like you might try finding a horse who can beat him starting right now, or hope he bounces come Breeders' Cup time.

Street Cry was very impressive. The one older horse many people dont know about yet is Hail The Chief. Dollar Bill was 2nd to both Street Cry and Hail the Chief, who I believe has run 115 and 110 Beyers in his last two.

Your right Slew, Street Cry looked very impressive, but it is going to be interesting if Mizzen Mast comes back OK. I've seen this horse run twice and both times he was visually impressive......Im already look'n forward to the Breeders Cup :D

You guys are right;
Mizzen Mast and Hail to the Chief could be a couple to reckon with this coming fall. Dollar Bill really surprised me; even though he was picking up the pieces, he might be a good horse to round out an exacta or tri come BC day..
I can't wait until the BC, either.
But first things first, BRING ON DEL MAR!!!
