Wow, just my luck. Someone sent me a money order monday, I was out of town this week and just flew back in today. I go to the mailbox and the money order isnt there. So I go inside, check my email and get the confirmation number of delivery where it says it was delivered yesterday afternoon at 2:17pm, then go back to the mail box. At that time I see the Apartment complex manager at the mailboxes and she informs me there was a mailbox theft last night between 12am-6am. She tells me to call the Post Office. So I call the post office, file a theft claim on a Priority Envelope, and they said someone would get back to me in 48 hours. I then call the police and file a report. The police officer comes out, fills out a report, and basically says the sender hopefully kept the receipt so he can call and cancel the money order. Ive got a call into the sender now.

Is it true, the sender can cancel the money order purchased? Any info appreciated, nice start to the week losing $700.

yes.

there is a control number on the MO. the person who bought it needs to call and have a stop payment put on it and they will reissue a new one for them.
